Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

Ananya is a registered social worker and psychotherapist providing therapy support across clinical outpatient care and hospital-based mental health services. She completed her Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at York University and earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, where her training focused on children and their families, alongside broader mental health care.

With over ten years of experience in healthcare, Ananya has supported individuals and families through some of life’s most overwhelming medical and psychological moments. Her hospital work includes labour and delivery mental health care, birthing room therapeutic support, neonatal and NICU family counselling, emotional wellness support during pregnancy and postpartum, parent-infant relational therapy, pregnancy and infant loss including IUFD, grief-sensitive emotional stabilization, and support for disordered eating and eating-related distress. She also works with older adults and their caregivers, supporting cognitive transitions, emotional regulation, caregiver fatigue, systemic healthcare navigation, and continuity-of-care planning following health crises.

Ananya incorporates a blend of therapeutic frameworks including psychodynamic insight, somatic-focused emotional processing, narrative-based identity work, mindfulness-informed regulation, cognitive approaches including CBT and DBT, and resilience-centered psychotherapy. Her CBT and DBT work emphasizes recognizing the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviour patterns, and body responses, and supporting meaningful change through structure that feels manageable, practical, and human.
Ananya adopts a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, prioritizing her clients’ unique emotional needs. She understands that vulnerability can feel difficult, but believes that moments of openness and courage are often where meaningful healing begins. Her goal is to support clients through this process by offering steady guidance, compassionate clinical insight, and a safe space to explore emotions and long-standing patterns. Together, they work toward rebuilding resilience and strengthening the capacity to cope with life’s challenges.

Ananya is professionally registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is an active member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She is committed to ongoing clinical learning and evidence-informed practice. Ananya provides therapy in English and is highly fluent in Hindi, with conversational fluency in Punjabi and Urdu.
