Dr. Albert completed his Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. He has many years of clinical experience in community mental health, and hospital outpatient and inpatient settings.
Dr. Albert provides treatment to adolescents and adults who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, self-injurious behaviour, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, relational conflict, grief, loss, and terminal illness. He has extensive experience facilitating an intensive outpatient anxiety programme and he’s passionate about working with survivors of cancer and individuals who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
Dr. Albert draws from both an existential and contextual behavioural background, helping individuals identify meaning and pursue value-congruent action to increase agency in their lives. He believes in providing a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment with respect for each individual’s cultural identity. In addition to therapy, Dr. Albert also conducts psychological assessments.
