Wickus Joubert., M.A., C. Psych. Assoc. (supervised practice)
Wickus Joubert completed his Masters in Psychology at the University of Johannesburg in 1996, and he is currently under supervised practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Wickus has 20 years’ clinical experience in various contexts including hospital outpatient, inpatient settings, higher education, rehabilitation centres, and private practice.
Wickus provides treatment to teenagers, aged 14 to 18, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, relational conflict, systemic family challenges, sexuality, transgender, grief, loss, and bereavement. He has extensive experience in the fields of recurring trauma, couples therapy, rehabilitation, eating disorders, and work-related anxiety. Wickus is passionate about empowering people to grow and function optimally.
He works within the context of cognitive behaviour therapy, Gestalt therapy, and existentialism. His warmth, acceptance, and calming demur, facilitates a therapeutic relationship of respect and understanding. Wickus feels privileged to be an instrument/medium of healing and this is felt in all his sessions.
